Zenaida Montemayor

​​San Diego, Texas: Zenaida Montemayor 89 years of age passed away Sunday, January 24,2021 in an Alice Hospital. Zenaida was a native of San Diego and worked many years for Duval County Clerk and other county offices. She was the Mayor for the City of San Diego from 2000-2004. She also worked as an office Clerk for Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  She is preceded in death by her parents Carlos M. Montemayor and Dominga Rodriguez, her son Javier M. Perez, her daughter-in-law Brenda Perez, sisters Margarita Vela, Irma Montemayor, brothers Adolfo Montemayor and Ruben Montemayor. Survivors include brothers Carlos J. (Maria H.) Montemayor, Jerry (Sherry) Montemayor, Special Nephew Carlos R. Montemayor, grandson Javier M. Perez, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home-San Diego with a Rosary to be recited that same morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.  Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes entrusted with the arrangements. Due to Covid-19 pandemic we will follow all CDC and Government guidelines. We ask to please wear a mask and social distance at the Funeral Home, Church and Cemetery.
