Sulema S. Pena, 66 years of age, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in a Kingsville hospital. She was born in Geneva, Illinois on May 14, 1955. She lived in Geneva till her teenage years and then moved to Houston, Tx. with her family. In her early twenties the family then moved to Realitos, Tx. It was at that time she met her husband Carlos Pena of Benavides, Tx. They were married on February 17, 1979 and became lifelong residents of Duval County. Sulema was a homemaker who loved to cook and had one of the best lasagna dishes and cabbage salad. She loved antiques, watching Sci Fi, Criminal Shows, Novelas, and of course her favorite WWE. But most of all her biggest passion was her love for all her grandchildren. She loved to tell them stories and give advice that will endure forever. She was preceded in death by her parents Enrique Sosa and Elida Silvas Sosa, and one brother Gilbert Sosa. Sulema was survived by her husband Carlos Peña, two sons C.J. (Connie) Peña, and Michael (Lindsey) Peña, one daughter Dena (Simon) Elizondo, three brothers Richard (Jessica) Sosa, Johnny Sosa, and Jesus Sosa, two sisters Lisa (Rudy) Morales, and Rebecca Hall, ten grandchildren Steven M. Peña, Amanda Sue Villareal, Joseph D. Canales, Tomas Elizondo, Sarah G. Peña, Isabella R. Peña, Sophia L. Peña, Everett A. Easley, Emmoree R. Peña, Emerson V. Peña, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 1:00p.m.- 6:00 p.m. on Friday September 3, 2021, at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home- San Diego, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. All services will conclude after the Rosary. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
