Simona "Mona" V. De Leon

Freer- Simona "Mona" V. De Leon 61, passed away on May 8, 2021 in a Corpus Christi hospital.  Mona was a housewife all her life and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her hobbies were watching her favorite T.V. Shows, making flower arrangements, enjoyed decorating for events, and loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Susana and Elizandro Morin, parents Gilberto Villarreal Sr. and Maria Morin and Stepfather, Ramon Alaniz, brother Gilbert Villarreal, aunts San Juana Morin and Oralia Trevino, Consuelo Mata, uncles Ramiro Morin, Roman Morin, Moises Morin, nieces Karen Lynn Villarreal, Tammy Moreno, two sisters in law Anne Villarreal and Candelaria Garcia, two fathers-in law, Roberto De Leon, and Frank Morgan. She is survived by her husband, Eugene De Leon, son, Eugene De Leon Jr., daughter Blanca (Xavier) Trevino, daughters raised as her own, Charlie Garcia Moreno, Cheryl Pineda, brother Rudy Villarreal, Godson Oscar Luan, sisters, Zinnia Cantu, Anna Liza (Luis) Rodriguez, Marissa (Neri) Quintanilla, Granddaughter, Ayelli Renee Trevino, numerous nieces, and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers: Oscar Luan, Eddie Balboa Jr., Joel Leal, Claudio Trevino, Eugene De Leon Jr., Xavier Trevino, Ramon Leal.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home at 4:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Services will conclude after the Rosary.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
