Benavides Texas: Sijifredo Barrera 86 passed away on December 26, 2017. He served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed dancing, barbecuing, music, and spending time with family and friends. Sijifredo loved to travel and enjoyed different places. He was a Parishioner of Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Concepcion and Eulalia Barrera, sister Artemia Valdez of San Diego, brother Adan Barrera of San Antonio. He is survived by one son, Sijifredo Barrera Jr., of Falfurrias, Texas, one daughter, Marie Frances Torres, of California, one sister Sylvia (Ventura) Flores, of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Jan. 2, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan.3, 2018 at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, Benavides,Texas. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery. Mauro P. Garcia Funereal Homes entrusted with the arrangements.
