Sara G. Garza

San Diego, Texas ~ ​Sara G. Garza, 62 years old, passed away after a sudden illness on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in a Corpus Christi hospital surrounded by her loving family.
 
Throughout her life, she wore many hats, including being a former caregiver, and an employee of SDISD and Wal-Mart. Sara enjoyed dancing, swimming, socializing, spending time with her family, and trying her luck with slots. She was a loving mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Always a kid at heart, anyone that knew Sara knew of her love for children.
 
Sara brought light to any situation and was always a pillar of support to those around her. A two-time cancer survivor, Sara gave faith and positivity new meanings.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosendo and Lydia Almarez Garza, two brothers, Arnoldo Garza and Raul Garza, and raised as a brother, Ricardo Tanguma, and sister Diana Gonzalez. 
 
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Celes Garza, whom she raised with her ex-husband Celestino Garza. Celestino and Sara remained great friends, co-parents, and grandparents to Mia Angel Escamilla and Eytan Lee Martinez.
 
Sara is also survived by her her fur-baby Reef, her companion Israel Gonzalez, two brothers Rene Garza and Rosendo Garza, three sisters Estella Garza, Lydia Garza and Irma Garza, and numerous nieces and nephews. 
 
Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. All services will conclude at the church. Mauro P.
