Alice- Ruben N Garcia, 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, godfather, and friend was born to eternal life on October 21, 2022. Noe Ruben “Uncle Ruben” was born at home in Guajillo, Texas on October 12, 1927. He graduated from San Diego High School, San Diego, Texas in 1945, and graduated from Texas A&I University, Kingsville Texas in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He worked as a Logistics/MOS Instructor. He retired from Federal Civil Service and the US Army Reserves as a Senior Master Sergeant, and retired from H&R Block as a tax accountant. He married Maria Delicia Ramirez “Aunt Bey” on June 13, 1953, and dedicated the rest of his life to his wife and children. He raised his family in San Antonio Texas, Battle Creek Michigan, Albuquerque New Mexico, and Alice Texas. After retirement Ruben “the Duke” and his “Duchess” Maria Delicia supported the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Daughters of America and were Eucharistic Ministers for St. Joseph Catholic Church. They also volunteered for Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan and watched the most recent games. He was preceded in death by his parents Clemente (Popo Clem) and Clotilde (Momo Cleo) Garcia, his sister Maria Luisa Gonzalez (Ricardo d.), his brother Clemente Jr. (Graciela d.), his sister Lucia Acuña (Arturo d.), his daughter, Edna M, and his son Phillip R (Lori Bryant). He is survived by his sisters Dora McClurg (Henry d.), Olga Bonilla (Tony), and Nickie Valdez (Sal d.), daughter Anna T, sons Victor H, Ruben T, and Mark A (Maryann Romero), grandchildren Lisa M Dunn (Jarrett), Christopher D Tyler (Courtney), Jessica N Maldonado (Ramon Jr), great-grandchildren, Siannan M and Christopher P Dunn, Vivienne L Tyler, Ramon III, Ruben T, Lareyna D, and Jose C Maldonado. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 5 pm – 9 pm at Mauro P Garcia Funeral Home, 600 S Wright St, Alice Texas. Rosary will be recited at 7 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, October 27, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 801 S Reynolds St, Alice Texas. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Mauro P.
