San Diego-Rogelio B. Cardenas, 70 years old passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was a graduate of SDHS Class of 1969. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He retired from SDISD after many years. He was currently employed with All Aboard Transportation and worked for them for about 5 years. He enjoyed barbequing and spending time with family and playing his music. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus C. Cardenas and infant son Rogelio Cardenas, Jr. He is survived by his companion of 22 years Dominga Ramirez, two sons, Roberto Cardenas, and Joseph N. (Rexanne Simmons) Cardenas, one daughter Veronica Trevino, his mother, Evangelina B. Cardenas, twin brother Roel B. Cardenas and brother Rolando (Sylvia) Cardenas, five sisters, Rosalinda (Celestino, Jr.) Perez, Irma Cadena, Cynthia (Steve) Harris, Georgiana (Alireza) Lescokelayeh and Yvette Cardenas, six grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. Visitation will begin on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the San Diego cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic masks will be worn at the Funeral Home and Cemetery.
