​Freer, Texas - Richard Serna, Jr. 60 years old passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 in a Corpus Christi hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was a former employee for CC Forbes for many years. Richard was an Avid Cowboys Fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Serna, Sr., his wife Norma Luera Serna and a brother Raymundo Serna, Jr.. He is survived by his mother Elia Serna, his son Richard (Angela) Serna, daughter Vicky Serna, two brothers Rene (Sharon) Serna and Ruben (Jessica) Serna, two sisters Rosie (Guadalupe) Garza and Rubie (Beto) Gonzalez, four step-daughters Alicia (Alejandro Castillo) Perez, Laura Lara, Yvonne (Sergio) Cedra and Jennifer Vega, step-son Pablo (Berta) Vega, Jr. , numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery # 2. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that everyone wear a mask at the Funeral Home, Church and Cemetery.  Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
