Ricardo Rene "Dido" Ramirez
Ricardo Rene “Dido” Ramirez of Portland, Texas entered the eternal gates of Heaven on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at the age of 66.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1953 in Alice, Texas. He was the only blessing and son to Cimitrio and Aurora Ramirez. After graduating from San Diego High School in 1972, Ricardo attended The
University of Texas at Austin where he became the biggest Longhorn fan. He graduated from UT in ’77 and became a life member of the Texas Exes.
He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Martinez in June of 1977 and was happily married for 43 years. Ricardo worked for DuPont and Occidental Chemical for over 25 years.
He also served as a member of the Educational Service Center Region 2 Board of Directors for 14 years, holding various positions during his time, as well as serving on the Corpus Christi Health Board for 6 years. His biggest blessing and legacy was his family. They were everything to him! He loved being a husband and was forever fulfilled by being a great father.
He enjoyed gambling in both Las Vegas and Louisiana, an itch he got from his mother and aunts. He always enjoyed planning his next visits. Ricardo enjoyed working on the yard, playing with his dogs, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and most of all, getting excited to wash the cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cimitrio and Aurora Ramirez. He is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia, two sons, Sergio Rene, Marco Josue (Nicole) and his only favorite daughter Kyla Lisset. Ricardo had numerous brothers and sisters in law and cousins.

I was so fortunate to know and work with Ric Ramirez. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. He was a truly great man who loved his family beyond measure. He served as a board member when I worked at the Education Service Center, 2. He was always fair, kind, understanding, and above board in all of his actions. He and Cynthia would talk about their children and the pride they had in each of them. Ric will be missed. He and his family will be in my prayers. May God rest his kind soul.
