Raul Vela

San Diego, Tx – Raul Vela 73 years of age passed away after a short illness on Friday June 30, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. Raul was a retired truck driver, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will deeply miss him. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ricardo Vela and Virginia Gomez, one sister: Maria Inez Castillo. He is survived by his wife Rosa S. Vela, one son Raul Vela, Jr., one daughter; Michelle (Donnie Tollett) Vela, two brothers; Rey (Criss) Gomez, Ricardo (Judy) Vela, two sisters; Cynthia Nunez, and Angie Vela, three grandchildren; Bernie, Frederick, and Jonathan, four great-grandchildren, and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held on Monday July 10, 2023, at 8:00am with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00am at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel – San Diego, Tx. Funeral Mass will follow and be help at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church at 11:30am. Burial San Diego Cemetery #2.
