Paula S. Cantu

Realitos, Texas ~ Paula S. Cantu, 85 years old, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, in a Kingsville hospital after a sudden illness. Paula was a housewife, who enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be sadly missed by all knew her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Salinas and Maria Consuelo Vera Salinas, her husband, Leonel Cantu Sr., and one sister Beatriz S. Sanchez.

She is survived by her two sons, Leonel (Noemi) Cantu Jr., and Reynaldo Cantu, two daughters, Hermelinda (Jessica) Cantu, and Anabel (Jessica) Cantu, one brother, Omar Salinas, one sister, Katy S. Garza, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Active Pallbearers: Odell Cantu, Omar Cantu, Mario Cantu Jr., Joe Lara, Jose Luis Cantu Jr., and Nathan Gutierrez.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Followed by the internment at the Salinas Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with the arrangements.
