Omar M. Vidal, 59 years old, passed away on May 21, 2024, peacefully in the home he built surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. He was married to the love of his life Corina Vidal for 42 years. He was an active member of the St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church of San Diego, Tx. Omar was a devoted, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who were lucky enough to be a part of his life. He started carpentry at the age of 11, which led to a successful business. He enjoyed BBQing, listening to music, making pan de campo, and gambling. We will miss him and always cherish all his memories.
Omar was preceded in death by parents Hipolito and Emma Vidal, father-in-law Mauro Garza Sr. He leaves behind his beloved wife Corina Vidal, children; Omar “Mikey” (Daniela) Vidal, Christopher (Valarie) Vidal, grandsons; Fabian Raul, Michael Evin, Jaden Daniel, Christopher Homero, and Dion Emmanuel Vidal, siblings; Israel (Betty) Vidal, Leonor (Rogelio) Ramirez, mother-in-law Berta Garza, nephew Justin M. (Stephanie) Vidal, brother in law; Frank Garza, and sister in laws; Irene Bueno, and Emelinda Bueno. Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery #2. Active Pallbearers: Fabian Raul Vidal, Michael Evin Vidal, Jaden Daniel Vidal, Justin Vidal, Santana Salazar, and Morris Saenz. Honorary Pallbearers: Christopher Homero Vidal, Dion Emmanuel Vidal, Mason Vidal, Ronnie Gonzalez, Carlos Espinosa, Rudy Luera, and Justin Montemayor. Good man gone. Fought a hard fight. Always cracking jokes and laughing. One amazing carpenter with one of kid skills and perfection . Rest easy buddy.
