Minerva J. Martinez

​San Diego, Texas:  Minerva J. Martinez 79 years of age passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 in an Alice Hospital after a sudden illness. Minerva was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America for many years. Minerva is preceded in death by her parents Nicolas and Mercedes Juarez, sisters Luz Salinas, Olga Perez, Maria Gaitan, and brother Silverio Juarez. She was a Cafeteria employee for the San Diego Independent School District for many years. She worked as a Home Health Provider taking care of her Mother. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband of 57 years,  Efrain L. Martinez, sons David (Luanna) Martinez, Adan (Lisa) Martinez, Efrain Martinez, Jr. daughter Cynthia Y. Martinez, brother Antonio "Tony" (Estella) Juarez, sister Elia Espinoza, 18 Grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will begin on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home-San Diego. Rosary will be recited @ 10:00 am. that same morning at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated right after the Rosary.  Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery #2.  Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes are entrusted with the arrangements. ​ALL SERVICES ARE PRIVATE.  Due to Covid-19 pandemic we will follow all CDC and Government guidelines. We ask that everyone please wear a mask and social distance at the Funeral Home, Church and Cemetery.
