Mauro G. Galvan, Sr.

Benavides, Texas:  Mauro G. Galvan, Sr. age 81 passed away on February 3, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born January 15, 1938 in Concepcion, Texas to Toribio S. Galvan and Refugia G. Galvan. He enjoyed hunting,  barbecuing,  playing his accordion and talking with family members and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Mauro worked for the Benavides Independent School District for 5 years, Duval County Prct. # 3 for 37 years, Abojados Canales Ranch Part time for 15 years, and was a Retired Lieutenant for the Benavides Fire Department for 21 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents Toribio and Refugia Galvan, his brother Lorenzo M. Galvan.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years Dorotea G. Galvan, daughters Sylvia G. (Roberto) Garcia of Alice, Yolanda G. (Pedro) Ochoa of Benavides, sons Mauro Galvan Jr. and Julian Galvan both of Benavides, Antonio Galvan and Angel (Selina) Galvan of Alice, two children he raised as his own Belinda Cantu and Reynaldo Peralez from Benavides, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers Guadalupe Guerrero, Reynaldo Peralez, Jesus Guerrero Jr.  Active Pallbearers : Mauro Galvan Jr, Jose Julian Galvan, Antonio Galvan, Angel T. Galvan, Roberto Garcia Jr., Luis T. Galvan, Mauro Garcia, Isreal Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes are entrusted with the arrangements.
