San Diego, Texas - Maria Magdalena Luna, 84 years old passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family. She was a Faithful Catholic and a devoted wife, mother, Wela, great- grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria, and San Juana E. Maldonado, one son, Rufino Luna, Jr. four brothers, Jose Maria, Oscar, Florencio, and Guadalupe Maldonado and one sister, Herminia Saenz. She is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Rufino Luna, Sr., three sons, Hector (Cruz) Luna, Omar (Aurora) Luna,Sr. and Orlando (Isabel) Luna three daughters, Leticia (Rudy) Torres, Patricia (Arnold) Diaz and Maricel (Vaughn) Perez, three brothers, Raul Maldonado, Sr., Ramon (Rita) Maldonado and San Juan (Rosa) Maldonado, two sisters, Zenaida (Raul) Chavarria and Gloria Ibanez, two sisters-in-law, Zulema Maldonado and Juana Maldonado, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Active pallbearers: Ned Luna, Raul Ryan Arredondo, Omar Luna, Jr., Matthew Luna, Aaron Luna, Idelfonso Nunez, III, Justin Thompson, and Michael Long. Honorary Pallbearer: Logan Luna. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery #2, San Diego, Texas. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we will follow all CDC and Government mandates, we ask everyone to follow the guidelines by social distancing and wearing masks inside the Funeral Home and Church. Mauro P. My sweet momma, love you forever and will miss our Sunday morning breakfast and Wednesday night get togethers . You were the best mom ever! Dad and you raised us to be honest and hard working like y’all were , thank you for being an excellent example of what a mother should be! Rest In Peace in eternity until we meet again ❤️

Praying for peace and comfort for the Luna and Torres families and all those feeling the pain of separation from Tia Magdalena. I remember her as being the quiet Aunt who was very kind and always had good things to say about her family! She is now in the arms of her savior and at peace! God Bless
