Maria Luisa (Mary Lou) Gomez

​Our loving mother, Maria Luis (Mary Lou) Gomez fell asleep in peace on February 18, 2021. She was born on July 31, 1931 in Sinton, Texas.  She was an avid antique dealer and enjoyed socializing with anyone and everyone.  She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake for her grandchildren.  She would do anything for her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Valentine P. Gomez, her son, Jose Armando Gomez, her mother, Maria G. Torres and her grandson, Miguel Andres Gomez (Lele). She is survived by her sons, Valentine A. Gomez (Kelly) of Leander, Tx., Ernesto A. Gomez (Yolanda), Robert A. Gomez (Sandra) and Chris A. Gomez. Her daughter Janie G. Garcia (Richard), all of Alice, Texas., her daughter Matilde Cortez (Frank, deceased) and her daughter-in-law, Ernestina M. Gomez, both of San Diego; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
 
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Alice Meridian staff and Nurses on Wheels hospice for the care that was provided to our mother.
 
Funeral Services will be private with immediate family only due to Covid restrictions.
