Maria Hortensia "Tencha" Castillo

​San Diego-Maria Hortensia "Tencha" Castillo, 79 years old passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Kingsville, Texas. She was a graduate of San Diego High School Class of 1958. She was retired from the SDISD after 34 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Luz Esmeralda Salazar, her husband, Pedro V. Castillo, daughter-in-law, Esmeralda Castillo, three brothers, Desiderio Salazar, Jesus "Chuche" Salazar and Francisco Salazar, three sisters, Consuelo Gonzalez, Marta Garcia and Petra S. Corona. She is survived by her two sons, Luis Manuel Castillo of McAllen, Texas and Roberto "Bobby" (Arcilia) Castillo of Ricardo, Texas, two sisters, Paula Vega of San Diego, Texas and Estella Galindo of Calallen, Texas, six grandchildren, Saul (Tanya) Castillo, Sergio Castillo, Pedro Stephen (Sabrina) Castillo, Ninel H. Castillo, Jazmin L. Castillo and Ivan W. Castillo, two great-grandchildren, Alana E. Castillo and Sadi J. Castillo, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P.
