Maria Flora Garcia

​Rios, Texas - Maria Flora Garcia, of Corpus Christi, Tx, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023, at the age of 90 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe Martinez Guerra, and Dolores Saenz Guerra; her husband, Isaac Garcia; brothers Guadalupe Saenz Guerra; Bernabe Saenz Guerra. She is survived by her sister Gerardita Guerra Hinojosa (Ruben P.); brothers Estevan Guerra Saenz (Rebecca), and Norberto Saenz Guerra (Amelda), and sister-in-law Lydia P. Guerra. Born into a long-standing ranching family from nearby Concepcion, Tx,  Maria Flora was the eldest of six children. 
 
It was in her early years of life where she acquired many traits for which she will always be remembered, namely, her strength, independence, and strong work ethic. While she worked and volunteered in various capacities to include many years as a beautician, her passion and love surrounded her many years with her husband at "El Ranchito" She took pride in their days spent working cattle, horses, and all things pertaining to ranch life. She was known for spending countless hours in her garden, and crocheting. She was known as a beloved friend and neighbor. In addition to her love for the ranch was the great joy she experienced in volunteering with the disabled veterans. For her dedicated commitment and work, she received a lifetime membership as a Disabled Veterans of America Auxiliary. In her last days, Maria Flora continued sharing stories of the family and about the elders, which was her customary way of offering guidance, counsel, and wisdom on the importance of faith, family, and friends. She will always be remembered for her sacrificial love and for her dedication to the family posterity and the protector of the families' customs and traditions. She leaves behind a large extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her cherished, loved friends.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church, with a Rosary to be recited at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:45 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santo Niño Cemetery. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with the arrangements.
