Maria E. Maldonado, aged 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She cherished spending time with her family and was a devout member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation. Maria found joy in activities such as reading her Bible, shopping, decorating, and cooking for her beloved family, all while nurturing her unwavering faith. Throughout her 59-year marriage, she exemplified unwavering devotion as a wife, and she was a nurturing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Maria’s compassionate nature knew no bounds. She dedicated herself to helping others whenever she could. Her kindness and caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo G. Ramos Sr. and Domitila G. Ramos, her loving husband/high school sweetheart, Gilberto E. Maldonado, her son Manuel Rolando Maldonado, her daughter Hilda Maldonado, and her brother Romeo Ramos. She is survived by her four sons; Gilberto (Dora) Maldonado Jr. of Mission, Texas, Orlando (Lynda) Maldonado, Moses (Lisa) Maldonado, Aaron (Frances) Maldonado of Alice, Texas, three daughters; Monica (Marcus) Rangel of Alice, Texas, Miriam (Michael) Heuston of Richmond, Texas, Damaris Maldonado of San Diego, Texas, her two brothers; Ricardo (Leila) Ramos Jr. of Freer, Texas, Oscar (Lupita) Ramos of Palito Blanco, Texas, two sister's Mary Ann (Derly Jr.) Vela of Alice, Texas, and Maria Louisa Vela of San Diego, Texas, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Respectfully, Kristen Heuston Visitations will begin on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 1:00 pm.-3:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be held at 3:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. – San Diego. Burial to follow at the Maldonado Family Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.
