San Diego, Texas - Margarita C. Chapa, 87 years old passed away peacefully, Wednesday March 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed traveling with her children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Carrillo Sr., and Francisca Garcia Carrillo, her husband, Sabas R. Chapa, one son, Jose Angel Chapa, two great-grandsons, Uriah Smithwick, and Jonathan Chapa. She is survived by her four sons, Sabas (Hilda) Chapa Jr., Roel Chapa, Agapito Chapa, and Orlando (Anna) Chapa, five daughters, Margie Elizondo, Hilda (Jesse) Chapa, Norma Chapa, Irma (Balde) Lozano, and Esmeralda (Clay) Deathridge, three brothers, Oscar (Hortencia) Carrillo Jr., Esquiel (Eloida) Carrillo, Baldemar Carrillo, two sisters Herminia (Danny) Vega, Nicolasa (Mike) Torres, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego, with a Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery #2 in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes Inc. entrusted with the arrangements. Pallbearers will be, Nicholas Chapa, Adam Chapa, Stevie Villarreal, Landon Chapa, Daniel Mendiola, and Roman Villareal. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that you wear a mask at the Funeral Home, Church and at the Cemetery.
