Sandia, Texas Luciano Gaitan 89 years of age passed away on April 22, 2018 in an Alice Nursing Home. He was a Farmer, Rancher and Compressor Mechanic all of his life. Luciano was an Army Korean Veteran. Member of the V.F.W. Post 8621, United Veterans Burial Association, American Legion, Alice Evening Lions, Jim Wells County Fair Association, Life member of Farm Bureau, and Santo Nino De Atocha Church Mutalista. Luciano was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Justina Gaitan, his wife Francisca M. Gaitan, great-grandaughter Elizabeth J. Gaitan, great-grandson Mario Jacobo III, sister in law Paula Gaitan. He is survived by his children Norbert (Melba) Gaitan Sr., Gilbert (Patricia) Gaitan both of Alice, Humberto Gaitan and Luciano (Eva) Gaitan Jr., both of Sandia, Norma (Sergio) Benavides and Sylvia (Robert) Garcia Sr. both of Alice, Diane (Terry) Eubanks of McKinney, his brothers Reymundo (Isabel) Gaitan of Beeville, Apoliano Gaitan and Abel (Olivia) Gaitan both of Sandia, sister Guadalupe (Victor) Padilla of Annaville, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and burial will follow at the Orange Grove Union Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes entrusted with the services.
