Leopoldo G. "Polo" Villarreal Sr.

San Diego-Leopoldo G. "Polo" Villarreal Sr., 67 years old passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 after a sudden illness. He was a graduate of SDISD Class of 1969, and a graduate of Del Mar College as a Welder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his father, Santana Villarreal, one grandson Ryan Villarreal. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Maria L. Villarreal, Alice, Texas, two sons, Hilario "Lalo" (Janie Rodriguez) Villarreal, Alice, Leopoldo (Danielle) Villarreal, Ben Bolt, five daughters, Isabelle (Ismael) Esparza, Robstown, Pamela Lisa (Ricardo) Guzman, San Diego, Monica Villarreal, Alice, April (Adrian) Guzman, Corpus Christi, Georgiana Henderson, San Diego, his mother, Maria Canales, San Diego, sister, Elma (J.M. Rodriguez) Diaz, of San Diego, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that same evening at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Mauro P.
