Juan Ramon "JR" Resendez

Benavides, Tx - Juan Ramon "J. R." Resendez, 66 years old passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. Sgt. Juan Ramon "J.R." Resendez, was a patrol and traffic officer and progressed through the ranks to Sergeant and retired with over 29 years of service. During his tenure he served as a K9 officer with his partner Buddy and also served as the Warrant Officer and Evidence Sergeant before retirement. Sgt J. R. Resendez was recognized as one of the toughest Sergeants by the officers who had the honor of working alongside him. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramon Pena Resendez and Juanita Amaya Resendez, one son Benjamin Resendez and his father-in-law Andres "Chito" Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 26 years of marriage Norma H. Resendez, one son John Cody Resendez, two daughters Vanessa Ann (Andrew) Sanchez and Veronica M. (James) Harris, his mother-in-law Aurora G. "Lola" Hernandez, one brother Calixtro Resendez, one brother-in-law Rene "Rhino" Hernandez, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1p.m. till 2 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego.  Prayer Service will be officiated by Pastor Max Palacios that will be held at 2 p.m. the same day. All services will conclude after Prayer Service. Mauro P.
