Jose G. Garza

Alice, Texas - Jose G. Garza, 71 years old passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 in an Alice hospital after a long illness. He was a native of San Diego, Texas. He was a retired Diesel mechanic for Stallion Oilfield Service for many years. Joe was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adan Garza Sr. and Eva Garza Vidal, one sister, Clementina Gonzalez and one brother Roel Garza. He is survived by his wife of 51 years of marriage, Esmeralda G. Garza of Alice, Texas, four daughters, Joyce (Jose) Trevino of Alice, Texas, Jo Ann (Miguel) Laurel of Orange Grove, Texas, Vicky Lee (Jeffrey) Williams and Christin (Hilberto) Galvan both of Alice, Texas, his mother-in-law, Leocadia Morgan of Orange Grove, Texas, two brothers, Adan Garza Jr. of San Diego, Texas and Juan Jose (Rachel) Hinojosa of Houston, Texas, one sister, Idolina Eldrige of Bishop, Texas, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Serving as his Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons, son-in laws and brother. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with arrangements.
