Jose Cortez

​San Diego-Jose Cortez, age 77 passed away on June 16, 2021, in San Diego, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born March 27,1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose Cortez and Virginia Cortez Gonzalez. He worked with Helen Field Brothers for six years, Bay Construction four years, and retired from San Diego I.S.D. after fifteen. Jose enjoyed singing and listening to music. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Cortez, and Virginia Cortez Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife, Diana G. Cortez of San Diego, Texas, five brothers Lionel Cortez (Martha) of San Antonio, Texas, Arturo Cortez (Sylvia), Enrique Cortez both of San Diego, Texas, Angel Cortez (Gloria), George Cortez (Alicia) both of Alice, Texas, one sister Ginny Cortez Zepeda (Ralph) of Alice, Texas, two sons Jose Anthony Cortez (Georgette), Samuel Aaron Cortez both of San Diego, Texas, one daughter Patricia Ann Ramos (Marshall Jr.) of Alice, Texas. two granddaughters, Alexandria Marie Garcia (Adam) San Antonio, Texas, Lisa Marie Garcia (Oscar) Alice, Texas, four grandsons, William Joseph Garcia, Joshua Michael Garcia, Elijha James Ramos, all of Alice, Texas, Jose Valiente Cortez of San Diego, Texas, one great-granddaughter, Julianna Garcia of Alice, Texas.  Services will be held at the San Diego Family Worship Center located at 300 S. Trevino St. in San Diego, Texas 78384 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, by Pastor Anita P. Martinez and Pastor Rick Martinez Jr.
