San Diego, Texas - Jose A. Hernandez, 85 years old passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at a Nursing Home in San Diego after a short illness. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired SDISD bus driver for many years. He loved working on his garden and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose M., and Rosa Silva Hernandez, one daughter, Rosa Margarita Ramos, two brothers, Edelmiro Hernandez and Ramiro Hernandez, one sister, Maria Estela Oliveira, son-in-law, Jesus Olivares and daughter-in-law, Erica Ramos. He is survived by his wife, Maria Antonia Hernandez, two sons, Jose A. (Idalia) Hernandez, Jr., and John Eric (Aurora) Ramos, three daughters, Cynthia R. Hernandez, Irene M. (Tony Garza) Olivares and Evangelina (Rodolfo) Torres, one brother, David (Barbara) Hernandez, two sisters, Dora (Joe) Almonte and Lydia Garza, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitations will begin on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. All services will conclude that evening. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that you wear a mask at the Funeral Home. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with all arrangements.
