Jesus S. Salaiz, Sr.

San Diego, Texas - Jesus S. Salaiz, Sr. passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence after a long illness. He was a former employee for SDISD for many years and was currently a Rancher and Farmer in the Duval County area. Jesus was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He is preceded in death by  his parents Primitivo and Juanita Solis Salaiz, his wife Mercedes Garza Salaiz, son Ruben G. Salaiz, granddaughter Aimee L. DeHoyes and grandson Devin M. Castillo. He is survived by  his two sons Jesus G. Salaiz,Jr. and Hector G. Salaiz, two daughters Celina S. (Amado R.) Trevino and Olga S. (Oscar,Jr.) Garza all of San Diego, Texas, sister Maria Trinidad Hasette of Freer, Texas, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2108 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego. Mauro P.
