Isabel I. "Chavela" Ramos

Alice-​Isabel I. "Chavela" Ramos - 89 years old passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the SDISD and a former employee for Dr. E. E. Dunlap. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Jesusa Santana Ibarra, her husband, Manuel G. Ramos, her two sons, Ramiro, and Romeo Salaiz, two brothers, and two stepdaughters, Anna Ortiz, and Viola Buentello. She is survived by three step-sons, Manuel (Norma) Ramos, Jr., Rogelio (Janie) Ramos and Adrian Ramos, eight-step-daughters, Gloria (Angel) Ramos, Polly (Frank) Galaviz, Alma Patterson, Cleme Soliz, Marie Vidaurri, Rosario (Bobby) Ramos, Marisol Ramos and Angelica (Oscar) Ramos, two daughters-in-law, Gloria Salaiz, and Maria Antonia Salaiz, twelve grandchildren, Priscilla (Rene) Barrera, Rolando (Norma) Salaiz, Rogelio Salaiz, Saul Salaiz, Velma Salaiz, Elsa (Raul) Barrera, Sandra Salaiz, Sonia Lopez, Romeo Salaiz, Jr., Rene (Melissa) Salaiz, Anna Lissa Ramos-Garcia and Elizabeth Craney, numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic we will be following all CDC and Government mandates. We ask everyone to social distance and wear masks inside the Funeral Home, church, and Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice. Located at 801 S. Reynolds, Alice, Texas. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego.

Serving as Active Pallbearers are Rolando Salaiz, Rogelio Ramos, Rene Barrera, Dino Barrera, Gina Garcia, Bobby Tumlinson and Gino Salaiz.
