Tomball, Texas- Humberto Muñoz Lopez, Sr., 72 years old. In loving memory of Humberto Muñoz Lopez, Sr. , who passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at a Houston hospital surrounded by his loving family. Beto married his high school sweetheart Hilda Lopez on November 8, 1975. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with three sons, Humberto Jr (Diana), Jesus (Madison), Andrew (Bridget) and six grandchildren Nathaniel, Adelyn, Zayden, Ezekiel, Zachariah, and Rhea. Early in life, Beto learned the importance of hard work and instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith, he taught us the importance of family and doing what is right. One of the kindest souls on this planet, he was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He is survived by his wife and sons, grandchildren, brothers, and sister Juan (Annie), Tony (Monica), Mary (Adan) and Edward along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Josefina, and brothers Mike and Hector. He was a true role model who we will always look up to. An army veteran during the Vietnam Era, accomplished a long respectable career in the oil and gas industry. He volunteered for many years as President to the Orange Grove Little League and Bulldog Backers. He could be heard calling balls and strikes throughout the surrounding towns as a Little League Umpire. He commanded the field like he did life…. with fun, pride, and fairness. Loving husband, father, pops, brother, uncle, and friend, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Alice, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State V.A.
