Alice, Texas: Hector Hernandez 77 years of age passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his residence in Alice, Texas. He was a 1962 S.D.I.S.D. graduate. Hector was a retired Valero Refinery Electrical Engineer, where he worked all his life. After his retirement he worked as a Consultant for Nustar for about 5 years. He enjoyed hunting, ranching, music, and spending time with his family. Hector was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He is preceded in death by his parents: Francisco and Arcadia Hernandez, his wife Agustina "Tina" Hernandez, stepdaughter Linda Herrera, brothers Rolando Hernandez, and Ruben Hernandez, sisters Rosa Ramirez, Lydia Hernandez, and Paula Gonzalez. Surviving are his stepchildren, Luis (Vangie) Vela, Ramon (Nora) Vela, Criselda Vela, Sylvia Lopez, Yolanda (Eddie) Munoz, brothers Francisco (Ofelia) Hernandez Jr., Rogelio (Elvira) Hernandez, sisters Carolina Pena, Idolina H. Villarreal, Idalia H. (Genaro) Briones, Odilia H. (Gregorio) Flores, and Alma (Hector) Cantu. A special step-grandson Thowell James Stout, Jr., and numerous other step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers, Juan Manuel Hernandez, and Arnoldo Campos Jr. Active Pallbearers. Rogelio Hernandez, Jr. Greg Flores Jr., Rolando Hernandez Jr., Samuel Pena Jr., Frank Hernandez III, Justin Garcia, John Sendejo. and Donald Hole. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Chapel-San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Military Graveside Services conducted by the United Burial Association of Alice. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. in charge of arrangements. We ask that everyone social distance and wear a mask at the funeral home and church.
