Freer, Texas ~ Guadalupe C. Saenz Sr., age 85, a long-time resident of Freer, Texas, peacefully passed away on March 28, 2023. He was a self-employed welder for many years and retired with Duval County. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a kind and caring man who loved his family. He loved spending time at his ranchito, and most of all spending time with his family who loved him dearly. He was a humble man of faith who spent his days praying for his family and all who were sick in his community. He instilled values that were important to raising his children. We will always remember his love and passion for music and dancing. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Saenz and Rosa Cantu Saenz, his beloved sisters, Amelia (Jose) Garcia, Delia (Ramiro) Munoz, Margarita (Felix) Sanchez, his brothers Rafael (Ofelia) Saenz, Diego Saenz Sr. and Pablo Saenz Jr. Guadalupe is survived by two daughters, Leticia (Amado) Garcia of Freer, Texas, and Nora Jean Saenz of The Woodlands, Texas, two sons, Guadalupe (Melisa) Saenz II, aka Wally and Desi (Tammy) Saenz both of Freer, Texas, and the mother of his children, Gloria Amelia Saenz of Freer, Texas. He had 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. Two sister-in law’s, Amparo (†Diego) Saenz Sr. and Thelma (†Pablo) Saenz both of Freer, Texas. Active Pallbearers: Diego Saenz, Jr., Joel Galvan, Daniel Saenz, Adam Laredo, Caleb Garcia, and Mark Gonzalez. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 03, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 9 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Military gravesite services will be conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association at Hahl Memorial Park in Freer, Texas, followed by Burial. Mauro P.
