Francisco "Pancho" Nuñez Jr.

San Diego, Texas - Francisco " Pancho" Nuñez Jr., 83 years old passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. Francisco worked construction all his life, he worked 30 years at Lily Rex Construction, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco Nuñez Sr. and Emeteria S. Nuñez, his wife of 50 years Rosa Elena R. Nuñez, two sons Severo R. Nuñez, and Francisco "Panchi" Nuñez III, one daughter Edelmira "Millie" Nuñez, his siblings Israel Nuñez, Felipe Nuñez, Idelfonso Nuñez, Emilia N. Chapa, Emerteria N. Garcia. Survivors include his children Elena Nuñez Sanchez (Abel), Elisa N. Martinez, Araceli "Sally" Nuñez Diaz (Jorge), his siblings Manuela N. Laso, Lucia N. Martinez, Ruben Nuñez, grandchildren Christine Nuñez, Kimberly Leal, Mathew Martinez, Francine Martinez, Jose R. Sanchez, Brenda Nuñez, Luis F. Sanchez, Andres Sanchez, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 5 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. that evening at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
