Evelyn Teresa Labbé Luna of San Diego, Texas passed away on September 7, 2021 to join her beloved husband Pete who preceded her in death 9 years ago. She was born the only child of Luis F. Labbé and Teresa Fernandez Labbé in San Diego, Texas on May 17, 1927. Upon the untimely death of her beloved mother and at the age of 1 week old, Evelyn was raised by her paternal grandparents along with their seven sons and two daughters. Needless to say, she was well loved and cared for her entire life. Evelyn married Pete V. Luna on July 15, 1956 and had three daughters. She began her career working as a skilled bookkeeper for Oil Belt Chevrolet for 25 years and eventually for the First State Bank of San Diego until her retirement where she continued to maintain lifelong friends. Throughout their 56 years of marriage together, Pete and Evelyn instilled the value of love and respect for family and friends onto their daughters. Evelyn was a proud Labbé and her love and devotion to her family was everlasting. She longed for family gatherings and bar-b-ques at the Big Ranch even at the ripe old age of 94. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Luis F. and Teresa Labbé and her loving husband of 56 years Pete V. Luna. She is survived by her three daughters, Carmen, Rachel (Husband Wayne), Evelyn Gracie, a grandchild, three great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers, family and friends who provided care and support. Special gratitude to her youngest daughter, Evelyn Gracie, who devoted full-time care during the final years of our mother's life. Throughout their long life together, Evelyn and Pete were inseparable. Our hearts are comforted to know she is now walking alongside her loving husband once again. As we gather with family and friends, I hope all will remember Evelyn's laughter and take a moment to smile in her honor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. At this time due to health precautions, the family will hold a celebration of life memorial at a later date. Location, date and time to be determined. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that you wear a mask at the Church, and Cemetery. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes Inc. entrusted with the arrangements.

My heart is sad to hear of your mom's passing. I know that she is not only with your dad, but also with her parents and other members of her family. She was so sweet and kind. She was also so beautiful. Inside and out. Take comfort in knowing she was so loved by all who knew her.
