Freer, Texas - Eugene Roberto DeLeon, Sr., 60 years passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022, in a Corpus Christi hospital due to a Rattlesnake bite. He was a Freer High School graduate Class of 1981 and a Bee County College graduate of Beeville. Eugene. He was a former oilfield worker for Straight Line Construction, High Tide oilfield Services, and STX LLC. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter for the Freer Fire Department, and a custodian for Freer High School. His hobbies were spending time with his family and friends, he was an Avid Dallas Cowboy Fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto DeLeon, his wife, Simona V. "Mona" DeLeon, paternal grandparents, Serapio T. DeLeon and Anita DeLeon, maternal grandparents, Amando and Minerva Garcia, step-father, Frank V. Morgan, one sister, Candelaria "Candy" Luan, two nieces, Tammy Moreno and Karen Villarreal. He is survived by his son, Eugene DeLeon, Jr., two daughters, Blanca (Xavier) Trevino and Charlie Garcia, his mother, Eva Lina Morgan, step-mother, Narce DeLeon, four brothers, Leo (Joann) DeLeon, Robert DeLeon, David (Maria) Morgan, and Javier (Irene) Morgan, one brother-in-law, Rodolfo Villarreal, seven sisters, Norma (Ray) DeLeon Rios, Mari (Ray) DeLeon, Maida DeLeon, Monica (Elias) Dimas, Joann Morgan, Gracie († Joel) Santos and Nelda († Bob) Weber, two sisters-in-law, Zinnia (Lupe) Cantu and Ana Lisa (Luis) Rodriguez, one granddaughter, Ayelli Renee Trevino, one grandson, Carlos Miguel Cuellar, four, godchildren, Felina Mieja, Oscar Luan, Xavier Ezpinoza, Xander Ezpinoza, Anastasia Medellin Peralta, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Oscar Luan, Ramon Leal, Eddie Balboa, Juan Espinoza, Xavier Ezpinoza and Xander Ezpinoza, William Zepeda. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.
