Estella M. Lara

​San Diego, Texas - Estella M. Lara, 73 years old passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at a Corpus Christi hospital after a short illness. She was a retired employee for the Hospitality House Nursing Home for 33 years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Estella will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarito, Sr. and Consuelo Espinoza Maldonado, her husband, Jesus Lara, Sr., one grandson, Jesus Guadalupe Lara, three sisters, Emmita Maldonado, Emma M. Vidal and Elma Luera, three brothers, Manuel Maldonado, Sr., Alfredo Maldonado, Sr. and Teofilo Maldonado, Sr.  She is survived by her son, Ruben (Rachel Salinas) Lara, five daughters, Jessica Lara, Patricia L. Martinez, Norma L. Cantu, Cora L. Garcia and Kali Leane Benavides, three brothers, Margarito (Soila) Maldonado, Jr., Gilberto (Maria) Maldonado, Sr. and Ruben (Rosa) Maldonado, Sr., two sisters, Elodia (Reynaldo) Garza all of San Diego, Texas and Gilma (Nasario) De La Rosa of Bryan, Texas, eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren , numerous nieces and nephews.  Active Pallbearers: Edward Garza, Scotty Garza, Joseph Rene Laso, Jose Abran Sanchez, Jr., David Rubio, Amado Sanchez, Jr., Amado Sanchez, III, and Ruben Tovar.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from  5 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
