​Alice, Texas - Enriqueta B. Garcia went to be with our Lord on May 30, 2020 after a long illness.  She was 88 years old.  Enriqueta was in education with the Alice Independent School District for over 22 years until her retirement.  After her retirement she worked part time with the Department of Agriculture. She loved knitting and reading a good novel. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandkids.  She enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit with family and playing cards with Friends.  She was a member of St Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego Texas.  Everyone loved being around her because of her contagious smile and great humor.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents Juan Manuel Benito and Angelina Cadena Benito, her husband Manuel Homero Garcia, one son David Homero Garcia, one sister Teresa Munoz, a brother Vicente Cadena, and one special sister -in-law, Berta Guerra.   
 
Survivors include one son Victor (Pam) Garcia and four grandkids Jon-Erik Garcia, Andrew Victor Garcia, Lauren Victoria Garcia and Aiden Victor Garcia. Her sisters, Angelina B. Perez and Leonila B. Alarcon, her brother Francisco Javier Benito, and a brother in law Felipe Garcia and several nieces and nephews.
 
Paul Bearers:  Jason A. Perez, Gabriel R. Perez, Joseph D. Hancock, Luis G. Galvan, J.C. Perez III and
Oscar M. Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home- Alice 600 So. Wright St. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Las Calaveras Cemetery in Ben Bolt, Texas.  Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. in charge of arrangements.   

Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we will follow all CDC and Government mandates. We ask everyone to follow the guidelines by social distancing and wearing masks.
