San Diego, Texas ~ Elia J. Espinosa, 85 years old passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Elia was a homemaker, and caretaker of many children in San Diego for many years. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas Jaurez and Mercedes Jimenez Juarez, her husband, Jesus Barron Espinosa, two sons, Salome J. Espinosa, and Juan J. Espinosa, one brother Silverio Juarez Sr., four sisters, Maria Gaitan, Olga Perez, Luz Salinas, and Minerva Martinez. She is survived by her four sons, Jesus J. (Zulema) Espinosa, Carlos J. (Sylvia Ann) Espinosa, Jimmy J. Espinosa, and Luis Antonio J. (Ida) Espinosa, one daughter, Sylvia Marie Espinosa, one brother, Antonio (Estella) Juarez, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers will be Nicolas Sanchez, Justin Espinosa, Juan Espinosa Jr., Jose Bernal, Jonus Rodriguez, and Jesus Espinosa III. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Followed by the internment at the San Diego Cemetery #2 in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with the arrangements. The Espinosa family would like to give a special thanks to the director and nursing staff of The Premier of Alice for taking such good care of their loved one for the past two years.
