Eduardo C. Gamez, Jr.

​Orange Grove, Texas - Eduardo C. Gamez, Jr., 93 years old, passed Monday, December 12, 2022, in an Alice Nursing Home. He was a former employee of Knolle Jersey’s Farm for many years and a retired construction worker. His passion was his yard work, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Eduardo was known to all as "Lalo and Apa." He is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo, Sr. and Guadalupe Castaneda Gamez, one son, Jose Omar Gamez; four brothers, Arturo, Tomas, Juan, and Federico Gamez; five sisters, Clara Perez, Olga Gamez, Maria Gamez, Paula Zapata, and Elvira Cavazos. He is survived by his wife of 71 years of marriage, Consuelo G. Gamez, one son, Eduardo (Raquel) Gamez, III, and two daughters, Hilda (Humberto) Lopez and Luz Maria (Erasmo) Paiz; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Visitations will begin on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, with a Rosary to be recited at 10 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass. Burial will be at St. John of the Cross Catholic Cemetery. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
