Dora Gonzalez Mungia

Alice, Texas – Dora Gonzalez Mungia, 77 years old, was called home by our heavenly father on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Dora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She dedicated her life to taking care of children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and talking about the good times over coffee and breakfast. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Eutimio Gonzalez and Bonifacia Estrada, husband; Martin R. Mungia of 38 years, 5 brothers; George Gonzalez, Santos Gonzalez, Tino Gonzalez, Chone Gonzalez, and Jose Gonzalez. 3 sisters; Elvira Garibay, Sofia Rodriguez, and Simona Jones. Son; Hector Mungia, and her beloved dog Red

She is survived by her brother; Tone Gonzalez, 4 sons; Martin (Anita) Mungia of Alice, Tx. Amador (Teresa) Mungia of Alice, Tx. Mario (Paula) Mungia of San Diego, Tx. Michael (Sondra) Mungia of Palito Blanco, Tx. 2 daughters; Melissa (Robert) Zamora of Alice, Tx. Michelle (Dennis) Mungia of San Diego, Tx. 17 grandchildren, 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Martin Mungia, Mario Mungia, Michael Mungia, Mario M. Mungia, Robert Zamora, and Loretto Rivera.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice with a Prayer Service to be conducted at 10 a.m. that same morning followed by the Burial at New Collins Cemetery, in Alice Texas. Pastor Mathew Moreno will be officiating the services.  Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes are entrusted with the arrangements.
