San Diego-Diana S. Lazo, also known as "Mama Tia," 65 years of age passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 after a long illness at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. She retired from the SDISD after 15 years of being the Cafeteria Manager. Diana enjoyed kickball, gambling, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Amado Lazo, Sr., her parents Thomas Garcia, and Luisa Reyna Garcia, one brother Tomas Garcia and one sister, Aurora Resendez. Survivors include, one son, Amado Lazo, Jr., one stepson, Noel (Lisa) Lazo, three daughters, Noemi (Isa) Sanchez, Amanda (Jose Pena) Lazo, and Amber (Lisa) Lazo, one stepdaughter, Norma (Anthony) Robles, one brother, Jesus Garcia, raised as a brother, Servando Garcia, Sr., three sisters, Lydia (Alonzo) Guerra, Ana Vidal, and Eva Banda. 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers: Amado Lazo, Jr., Jose Pena, Jr., Isa Sanchez, Lionel Rodriguez, Rogelio Garcia, and Roy Resendez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home-San Diego Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. and a Funeral Service to Follow. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery No. 2. Due to Covid-19 pandemic we will follow all CDC and Government guidelines. We ask to please wear a mask and social distance at the Funeral Home. Mauro P.
