Desideria P. "Tia Lela" Ramirez

​San Diego, Texas ~ Desideria P. Ramirez, 86 years old, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Desideria was known to everyone as “Tia Lela”. She was born and raised in San Diego, Texas., and enjoyed embroidering, gathering with her family to make blankets, and making pan de polvo and tamales all year round. You wouldn’t be able to leave her site without getting a blessing from her, if she was aware of an event her grandchildren were going to be participating in, she would be there. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Justo and Antonia Espinosa Pereida, her husband; Roberto V. Ramirez, daughter; Mary Jessie Moss, 3 brothers; Jose Vega, Pete Vega, and Atanacio Pereida, and sister; Anita Vega Arriola.  

She is survived by her son, Robert G. Ramirez, brother; Moises Pereida, 7 grandchildren; Ruben Sanchez, Marlena Torres, Michael Sanchez, Omar Ramirez Hailey Moss, and Oziel Ramirez, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers will be, Ruben M. Sanchez, Robert M. Sanchez, Omar R. Ramirez, Marcelo Sanchez, Frank Vega, and Juan Torres.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 5 p.m.– 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego, with a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery, in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with the arrangements.
