Desideria P. Garcia

​San Diego-Desideria P. Garcia, 102 years old passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 10, 1918 at Peñitas Ranch, Texas to Jesus Prezas and San Juana Casso Prezas. Desideria worked as a salesperson for Edward’s Furniture in Alice, Texas. She owned a flower shop in San Diego, Texas for many years. She loved to make floral arrangements for weddings and quinceañeras. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Santana G. Garcia, Sr., one daughter, Gloria Anna Valerio, four sisters, Baudelia P. Longoria, Christelia P. Barrera, Martina P. Reyes, and Adela P. Lopez, one brother, Jesus Prezas, and one great-grandson Eric Miguel Galvan. She is survived by her son, Santana Garcia, Jr., two daughters, Sylvia Angelica Hinojosa and Lilia Amanda (Rene) Salinas, five sisters, Santos Gonzalez, San Juana Trejo, Maria Garcia, Elodia Alaniz and Lydia (Regino,Sr.) Molina, five granddaughters, Laura L. Doggett, Lela Michelle Vasquez, Ashley Arellano, Sabrina Lynn Peña and Maria Brenda Alaniz, five grandsons, Michael Hinojosa, Santana P. Garcia, Jr., Ruben G. Valerio, Rene G. Valerio and Gilbert Valerio, Jr., twenty-two great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego. Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Service to follow and burial will be at San Diego cemetery, San Diego, Texas. Please log on to our Facebook page Mauro P.
