San Diego- Daniel P. " Tarike" Gaitan 80 years old passed away Monday, December 29, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was a foreman for C&H Services years ago and he also worked for the City of Alice as a Truck Driver. He enjoyed family time, ranching, fishing, and hunting. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente Gaitan and Josefa Perez Gaitan. His wife Anita A. Gaitan, son Daniel Gaitan, Jr., and a son in law, Charles Bazan. He is survived by his three sons, Adrian Gaitan, Ruben Gaitan (Urbano Arriaga, Jr.), and Frank Steven (Monica) Gaitan, two daughter, Doris Bazan and Araceli "Shelly" (Joe) Ochoa, one sister, Maria G. Munoz, Special Family Members, Nelda Peña, Clementina Q. Sanchez, and Ramiro Gaitan, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers: Urbano Arriaga Jr., Carlos Bazan, Gilbert Sanchez, Daniel Gaitan, Brandon Gaitan, Ezequiel Moya, Lionel Rodriguez. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home-San Diego with a Rosary to be recited @ 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2021 @ 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Services will be live streamed; you can log on to Mauro P. Garcia Facebook page. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes are entrusted with the arrangements.
