San Antonio, Texas - Beatrice G. Chapa, 74 years old, passed away on Thursday March 3, 2022, after an extended illness in a Corpus Christi Hospital. She was a graduate from Texas A&I, and CCSU. She was a retired school teacher for 35 years from CCISD. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and spending time with her loving family. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus Guzman and Sarah Delgado, her husband Edelmiro F. Chapa Jr., and her two brothers Jessie Guzman and Danny Guzman.
 
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Chapa, and Joanne (John) Carvajal, sister Yolanda Guzman, two grandsons John Dylan Carvajal, and Jase Carvajal, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 9 a.m. -10 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. that same morning, followed by the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery in Benavides, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes Inc. entrusted with the arrangements.

Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that you wear a mask at the Funeral Home and at the cemetery.  ​

Dear Joanne, Liz, Yolanda and Family,
Our heartfelt condolences to you and your families for the loss of your Mom and Sister. Beatrice was a sweet person with a compassionate heart. She loved her family very much and would go above and beyond to help in any way that she could. You were so blessed to have such a wonderful person in your lives. She’ll be dearly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. May she Rest In Peace. Prayers for you and your families.

My heartfelt condolences to you Liz and the rest if your family. You know that your mom and I met at Monaco MS in 2005 and became BFF. She was truly a dear friend and like a sister. She's no longer with us physically but we will see her again in heaven.
