San Diego, Texas - Anita D. Bazan, 59 years old passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2021 at her parents’ home peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Anita was a 1980 graduate of San Diego High School. She graduated from Bee County College, as an LVN then continued her education and received her RN from Del Mar College and had a degree in accounting from Monterey Community College. She had been employed by Memorial Medical Center, Lan-Mar Home Health, NSCL Home Health and Care and Touch Home Health. She was a loving and nurturing aunt and sister. Everybody looked up to her, siblings, nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. Anita was a Mother to all. She loved fishing, camping, ranching, traveling, Vegas, her patients, her family, and her dogs. Preceded in death by her parents Daniel P. Gaitan and Anita Aleman Gaitan, her husband Charles D. Bazan and one brother Daniel Gaitan, Jr. Survived by her three brothers Adrian A. Gaitan, Ruben O. (Urbano Arriaga, Jr.) Gaitan and Frank "Frankie" (Monica) Gaitan, her sister Araceli "Shelly" Ochoa, three stepdaughters Christina Ann (Juan) Zuniga, Rita (Katrina) Tsosie and Louana B. (Samuel) Guzman, stepson Carlos (Chelsea) Bazan. Her Beloved Friend Veronica E. Garcia, eleven step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will begin on Sunday May 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery # 2, San Diego, Texas. Serving as Active Pallbearers: Daniel A. Gaitan, Adrian A. Gaitan, Carlos Bazan, Jr., Gilbert Sanchez, Sr, Sonny Alaniz, and Ezekiel Moya. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with arrangements. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic we ask that everyone continue to wear a mask and social distance at the funeral home, church, and cemetery.
