Alice, Texas- Alicia Beltran Gonzalez, our beloved mother, gained her wings on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 23, 1933, to Zaragoza and Juanita Beltran and was raised in Realitos, Texas. Alicia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and spent her life raising her children whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very caring and giving person, always had a smile on her face, and was always willing to help those in need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Alicia Beltran-Gonzalez is preceded in death by her grand-parents Vicente and Celia Gutierrez, her parents, Juanita and Zaragoza Beltran, her brothers, Pedro Beltran, Aristedes Beltran, Antonio Beltran, Sr., and sisters Eulalia Ruiz, Lydia “Lilly” Espinoza and Angelita Pena. She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Sr., three sons, Rolando Gonzalez (Mary Gonzalez), Roel Gonzalez, and Guadalupe Gonzalez, Jr., and daughters, Diana Quintero (Willie Quintero), Dalia Maldonado, and Delvia Gonzalez, (Gilbert Trevino, III). She had 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loyal canine companion, Lucky whom she affectionately called “Baby.” Special Thanks to all of the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Spohn Shoreline Hospital for providing compassionate care to our mother. A heart-felt appreciation to her friend and caregiver, Dalia Gonzalez for going above and beyond for caring for our mother. We will forever be grateful. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 10, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at Mauro P Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice followed by a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 11, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Alice. Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery. Due to the current health concerns, and for your safety and theirs, the family kindly requests no hugs or handshakes. Wearing a face mask is encouraged. Mauro P.
