San Diego, Texas - Elmira L. Guerra, 77 years old passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence. She was a graduate of SDISD Class of 1960. She was a homemaker, was a member of the Catholic Daughters Association at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Elmira enjoyed "LIFE" and was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Elmira will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Abel P. Lopez, Sr. and Marina Lopez Lopez, one son, Gabriel Guerra, two sisters, Celia L. Garcia  and Marina L. Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband of 52 years of marriage Pedro Guerra, Jr. of San Diego, Texas, one son, Pete A. (Greta) Guerra of San Diego, Texas,  two daughters, Celeste (Javier) Barrera  and Elmira Yvette (Rene) Valerio both of San Diego, Texas, SPECIAL NIECE, Imelda G. (Danny) Perez of Alice, Texas, one brother, Abel Lopez, Jr. of San Diego, Texas, one sister, Cleofas "Cleo" (Pete) Lopez Casias of San Antonio, Texas, fourteen grandchildren, Pate G. (Zac) Pizzini, Alexia (Ray) Vela, Pete (Marissa) Guerra, Jr., Sergio Guerra, Jorge Guerra, Crissy Barrera, Jaimee Barrera, Mathew (Stephanie) Briones, Andrew Briones, R. J. Valerio, Amareese Valerio and Leeandra R. Valerio all of San Diego, Texas, Amanda Garza and A. J. Barrera both of Corpus Christi, Texas, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from  5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will  be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. entrusted with arrangements.
