Viola Silvas, age 82, of Realitos, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025. Born and raised in Realitos, Viola lived a life full of love, strength, and quiet generosity. She dedicated many years to working in healthcare as a transporter, always offering care and compassion to those around her. Outside of work, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures—visiting the casinos, tending to her beautiful plants and flowers, attending church every Sunday and sewing handmade costumes and blankets for her grandchildren.

Viola had a green thumb that could breathe life into any garden and a heart that nurtured her family just as tenderly. Her love for her grandchildren was unmatched—she cared for them as if they were her own children, and her presence would be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Amador P. Silvas, her daughter Rebecca Garcia, son Rene Silvas, sisters Josie Arredondo and Virginia Cantu, her parents, Paula and Jose Quiroz.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Rachel Silvas, sons Rudy Silvas, Roel Silvas, and Jose “Boy” Silvas, as well as her son-in-law Antonio Garcia. Viola was blessed with 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who carry her memories in their hearts. Also surviving are her siblings, Lupita (Robert) Elizondo, Joe (Lucy) Quiroz, Rosalinda Sanchez, Berta (Alvaro) Galvan, Mario Quiroz, and Celestino Quiroz.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am - 10:30 am on Monday , June 16, 2025 with a Rosary to be recited at 10:40 am followed by a Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Mission Catholic Church in Realitos Burial at the Realitos Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Roberto “Chachi” Garcia, Richard Sosa, Freddy Mejia, Triston Gonzalez, C.J. Pena, Robert Silvas, and Benny Joe Silvas.

Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes is entrusted with the Services.
