San Diego, Texas Vilma P. Ibarra, 67, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at a nursing facility in Alice, Texas.

Born on January 6, 1959, Vilma was a proud graduate of San Diego High School, Class of 1977. She dedicated 25 years of faithful service to the San Diego Independent School District, where she was respected and appreciated for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to the students, faculty, and staff she served.

A devoted Catholic, Vilma lived her life guided by faith, kindness, and love. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Leonel "Leo" Ibarra, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together.

Vilma will always be remembered for her gentle heart, warm smile, and generous spirit. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jose Oscar Perez and Herminia Perez; her brother, Michael Perez; and her father-in-law, Antonio P. Ibarra.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 25 years, Leonel "Leo" Ibarra; her sons, Jose Adrian (Selina) Trevino and Cesar Rolando (Claudia) Trevino; her daughter, Laura Ysela Trevino; her brother, Jose Oscar (Celina) Perez Jr.; her mother-in-law, Ofelia S. Ibarra; three grandchildren; Joziah St. Jude Trevino, Avalynn Rose Torrez, and Anastasia Trevino, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.

Active Pallbearers: Leopoldo Perez, Jr., Tomas Morin, Gilberto Valerio, Jr., Jose Oscar Perez, III., Andres Garza and Adrian Garza.

Honorary Pallbearer: Jovon Perez

Vilma's memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home -San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
