Samuel "Sam" Sanchez

Samuel "Sam" Sanchez, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Sam was born on September 6, 1956. He dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department, where he worked with the 911 Addressing Team. He took great pride in serving his community and was respected for his commitment, dependability, and quiet dedication.

Sam found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for music, treasured spending time with his family, and especially cherished his nieces and nephews. He loved being at the ranch, spending time outdoors, and sitting on his front porch listening to the peaceful sounds of nature. Although he was a private man, he enjoyed visiting with his ranch neighbors and valued the friendships he made throughout the years.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Serafin Sanchez Jr.; his mother, Celia Sanchez; his brothers, Valentin Moreno Jr., Carlitos Sanchez, Felipe Sanchez, and Pete Sanchez; and his sister, Sylvia Zapata.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brothers, Adolfo Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Richard (Mariana) Sanchez, and Serafin Sanchez Jr.; his sisters, Esmeralda Wright, Sally Sanchez, and Irene (Kelly) Sanchez; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Sam will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He found happiness in nature, comfort in music, and peace in the simple moments of life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at the Mauro P. Garcia Chapel-Alice followed by a Rosary and Services at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Sanchez Cemetery in La Parrita Community, 294 CR 236, Orange Grove, Texas.
